This little book is the result of a very long and over though out experiment and it’s been a roller coaster.

It’s a little book and it’s holding it’s own. In the no man’s land of the craft shop people need to buy stuff. This is ‘stuff’ for them to buy. I can make the little book as efficiently as possible with out compromise to my standards. I can just about accept the bitter pill that is the in cash terms I am going to get about £12 for it.

I can’t do the craft fairs or worse still the artist book things. As I have no money I can’t go off on a jaunt to promote it and besides my appearance works against me.

I think I will just have to be brave.

love bombing at the bookbinding workshops

On my next bookbinding workshop I am going to give the people who attend a little pack of  book plates / title labels and they are going to be all lovely and embossed.

Best off all I am going to make a little envelope to contain them.

My lovely sister is taking me to London for a jolly jaunt and I have a first class ticket on the way back. This means that there is the slightest possibility that I might do some work on the legendary bookbinding handout. ( I can only ‘work’ in first class carriage when I get complementary gin and tonics)

My usual excuse of not having a copy of ‘word’ on the computer has failed as I understand that my husband’s new mac has it installed. I really must do my hand out it would be a bit of a laugh.

my cunning plan to lure people in the craft shop.

It’s the old geordie terms of endearment titles but this time the leather will be coloured and on layed and big and bright enough to attract people from across the street. It might not sell but it will amuse me for a bit and I think I have developed a new method in preparing the leather to accept the cut out letters.

I’ll promote the little books with a bit of Crawhall nonsense. Honest.

The very best decorated paper in the world.

The paper used for the covers of these books are made and sold by Jeffery – Whitton Book Papers of Edinburgh Scotland This is their site linky

I know people have been searching for them because I get hits every week they search goggle for Jeffery paper and they get me! I am going to promote them like mad because I recognise how brilliant their work is and it needs to be better known.

The other reason people come to the site is this. It’s a Louet sewing gauge and its great as well.

Here is six little books with flowers. Although I am absolutely in love with black leather I think people may be put off by it sombre quality they don’t exactly sing out with joy. The next series of books will be overflowing with radiant joy.

It’s not enough to have just one book that is amazing I have to have several books all at once I am a book glutton. I am only interested in books as a banquet. I want a feast.

I wear Barbour jackets so I can cram my pockets with these beauties. These two books are nothing short of astonishing I am going to spend the next few years / decades getting to know them.

This is one of these print on demands jobs. Hats off to Cambridge University for making these books available again.

I don’t even have the words to describe what this artist is doing here I only know I like it a lot.

I don’t think I am going to complete this book. I think just cutting out the letters and working with the leather to this stage was enough wound licking. Onwards and upwards.
